Our highly equipped in house workshop offers fast and efficient servicing for most makes of lawnmowers, garden tractors and garden equipment.
Our Highly trained technicians can diagnose your garden machinery when you are booking it in for its service so we can advise you on any extra costs before any work is carried out, giving you piece of mind.
We can supply a high class service to leading brands of garden machinery using genuine parts so your product stays original from the day you purchased it. We supply servicing to hedge cutters, chain saws, strimmers, brush-cutters, scarifiers, rotavators, tillers, leaf blowers, lawn mowers, lawn tractors, garden tractors, out front ride on mowers, robotic mowers, highway mowers commercial mowers, in fact all ground care products. We also supply servicing to construction tools such as stone cutters, compactor plates, drills and many more.

We also offer sharpening for chainsaws as well as offering replacement chains and also cylinder and bottom blades in cylinder mowers.
We are the main service agents for most major manufacturers such as Briggs and Stratton, Kawasaki, ECHO, STIGA, , Westwood , Countax , Lawn King, and many more.
We use Aspen fuel in our workshop on all repairs plus we have it on sale, please talk to us about the benefits of using Aspen fuel in all your products.
We offer a collection and delivery service throughout the year.

Stephen
Stephen has a high knowledge of the garden machinery world and can assist you with any fault you may come across. Stephen has gone through a intense engine course with Brigs & Stratton, within which he has been awarded with a Master Service technician certificate. A MST is not brought it has to be earned and kept up to date every year. He is also trained in the agricultural world, leading the way for technical repairs and service to commercial products.
Darek
Darek is highly regarded though out the midlands as one of best horticultural technicians you will ever meet. With over 25 years experience your product is truly in good hands. Plus no one can service and repair a two stroke product like he can.
Here at SGP we take the regular servicing of a product very seriously with a intense service program to ensure your product is in tip top condition throughout the season.

Here is just brief run down of what we carry out on a typical service to a ride on mower.
​

Book in and record any numbers related to the product so it can be efficiently tracked through our service department.
-
A quick assessment will be carried out to discover any faults outside the normal service.
-
Guards and covers are removed inc a removal and strip down of cutter housing on a ride on mower before a gentle clean with our pressure washer is carried out. Sometimes a tractor can take up to an hour to this point alone.

Then it is brought on to our ramps and work benches to have its service carried out
-
The engine cowling (cover) is removed to allow access to the ignition and cooling aspects of the engine.
-
Cooling fins are blown out.
-
Ignition system checked and reset if needed.
-
Spark plug removed and checked for any signs of poor running.
-
Fit new spark plug.
-
Air filter housing removed.
-
Carburetor removed.
-
Carburetor striped.
-
Carburetor cleaned and rebuilt.
-
Replace fuel diaphragm if fitted.
-
Refit carburetor and reset.
-
Reset governor.
-
Valve cover removed ( 4 Stroke only ).
-
Valves checked and reset. Valve cover seal checked. Valve cover re-fitted.
-
Fuel system checked and fuel tank cleaned.
-
Replace fuel filter (and pipes if needed).
-
De-carbonize engine exhaust point (Two strokes only).

Re-fit engine cowling.
-
Replace air filter if needed.
-
Run engine to operating temperature.
-
Drain engine oil.
-
Replace oil filter.
-
Refill engine oil.
-
Check PTO clutch.
-
Check drive belt, guide and idler pulleys.
-
Check transmission oil level and quality.
-
Clean and reset brakes.
-
Check and lubricate all moving parts

Check steering and alignment.
-
Check for correct tyre pressure.
-
Carry out cutting system service.
-
Check belts drive and idler pulleys.
-
Check cutter bearing.
-
Sharpen & balance cutter blades or replace.
-
Lubricate cutter housing's moving parts.
-
Rebuild and refit cutter housing to the tractor.

Reset cutter housing level, side to side - front to back,

Run machine and test for correct operation.
-
Test all safety switches.
-
Reset service indicator.
-
Report and produce estimate for any other maintenance need.

Spray with a protective and plastic preserver spray.
